Knitting Around!

I've been knitting a many lovely baby items lately. We have 1 dear friend and 4 family members expecting a bundle of joy in the not so distant future. I recently found out that DH's cousin is expecting twins. That's a total of 6 babies that need some knitted love. I have decided that I love to knit baby items. You can knit so much love into a tiny baby hat or booties. Thus far I have made 2 sweaters and I am currently knitting a cute light pink cardigan.

Here is a photo of my second sweater:

I think that I may have enough yarn left for little socks to go with it!

I have been a busy bee last week:

I finished an adorable Preemie hat. It looks like a little watermelon colored dollop. I am donating this hat to Knitting Kindness at The Urban Sheep. Knitting Kindness is a group that meets Wednesdays 12noon-2pm to knit charity items for our local area. I usually go at 1pm after I get off work. Sadly, The Urban Sheep is closed this week on Wednesday so I will start another baby hat to donate next week
.

I finished a Red and White baby bib. It's knit with 100% worsted weight cotton. I haven't decided what style of bibs that I like best. I plan to start a garter stitch bib next.

I have been working on some crocheted infant hats. This is a little watermelon colored hat that I finished quickly. I think that it still needs a little work. I, also, finished a yellow cotton hat this week, but I need to take another photo of it in the sunlight.

Well, It's back to knitting for me! :)

WWKIP Week!

WWKiP Day 2010; Pick the day that works best for your community:

From June 12th to the 20th.

I was not able to attend the local WWKIP Day in Sonora or Modesto because I had to work, so I created my own KIP. Here I am on June 17 at the Village Bakery:

Here is Glen, my DH, playing Golden Sun on the DS while I knit!

This is Myra. She makes the best frappacino that I have ever tasted. She can make lattes with designs in the foam.

Earlier this month on My Birthday,June 1, I went to By Hand Yarn in Sonora with my friend Denise. They have a birthday club where you get to draw for a discount on your birthday(I signed up in May). I got 25% off!!!!

Me on June 1!

Knitting and Life :)

I knitted this hat for Glen's grandmother. I also knitted another in red for his other grandmother. I have been thinking about writing the pattern up, but I haven't had a chance to type it out.

I also wrote a pattern for a baby hat:
I hope to have this baby hat pattern up on my blog as a free pattern in the near future!

Have a beautiful Day!

Holiday Goodness!

I found the tree. We've had it up for several weeks now. Here it is! I knitted a little camo sock. I also have a set of knitting needles leaning against the tree looking festive.

I've also made a holiday hat for myself:
It is a slouchy hat that I can pull down and cover my ears when it gets cold. I made a teal/green one in for my MIL in a similar striping yarn

This is a children sized version of The Boy Hat. I knit for 5 inches before starting the decreases. This makes a nice stretchy hat. It even fits my big head! I made this for a friend who is doing a little bit of holiday cheer for a group of children at a local Crisis Center. I only wish that I could have made more, but this was all that I could squeeze into my holiday knitting. I am still knitting a lace hat in mission falls 136 Blue:
This one is for his Grandmother and I made the same hat in a red for Nanna, his other grandmother. I was so excited when I finished Nanna's hat that I wrapped it up as soon as finished. I am planning to photograph this one when I finish it. Well, back to knitting.....

Looking for a Special Yule tree...

Well, since this will be our 1st Yuletide as a married couple, I want to put up a tree. We have a small 3-foot prelit tree that is in our storage area. There really is not a place that I could put the tree that we already own and plug it in. I have also been looking at small live trees, but nothing seems right. Monday, I saw the little tree that I want....

It is a Charlie Brown Christmas tree! I don't know the tree's size, or if it will work. It's just cute! Glen laughed when I showed him the photo. I don't know if the red bulb comes with it either

I have a small knitted sock that I made this year to commemorate my knitting my 1st pair of socks. I also want to get an ornament for our 1st holiday. Hmmm, what else should go on our tree??

Have a Beautiful Day!

knitting, crocheting and more crocheting

I went to see A Christmas Carol in 3d with my husband yesterday. It was our 1st 3d movie in the new digital 3d. It was amazing! We had a fantastic time.

I just finished a knitted lace hat for myself last night. Just in time too. It is getting very chilly here and I got my hair cut last week. I am also working on a side slip cloche for myself. It may end up for someone else when I am done. :) Here is a photo of it:
I have been working on some fleece blankets with crocheted edges for my family. I almost have my Mom's blanket done. Now, I just need to finish one for Dad, Amy and Kenny. Maybe I can get a little more crocheting done. I have a little bit of time before work!
